In 2005 the Federal Bankruptcy Laws changed a great deal. Now everyone who files bankruptcy is required to receive counseling and education from approved agencies like CCCS of Central Oklahoma.
There are two separate certificates you need to complete the bankruptcy process. You can take these courses

Pre-Filing Credit Counseling Certificate
The Bankruptcy Pre-filing Briefing meets the requirements for the pre-filing credit counseling certificate. During this process, you will receive the tools needed to evaluate your decision as well as valuable budgeting guidance and an overview of the bankruptcy process.
Pre-Discharge Debtor Education
The Bankruptcy Pre-Discharge Briefing meets the requirements for the bankruptcy debtor education – the final certificate in the bankruptcy process. This course is designed to help you understand that you can recover from bankruptcy. You will learn the basics of personal financial management; learn how to set up a budget and how to make it work for your family.

Read More About it! § 109(h) of the Bankruptcy Code requires all individual debtors who file for bankruptcy relief must receive a briefing that outlines the available opportunities for credit counseling and provides assistance in performing a budget analysis. In addition, after filing a bankruptcy case, an individual debtor generally must complete a financial management instructional course before he or she can receive a discharge.
