Reverse Mortgage: Preparing for Your Counseling Session (HECM handout from HUD)
A reverse mortgage allows older homeowners to tap into the equity that they have in their homes. With a reverse mortgage, you may borrow against the value of the home and receive loan proceeds according to the selected payment plan. The loan need not be repaid as long as the home remains the principal residence. To qualify, homeowners must be at least 62 years old and the home must be paid off or have a low mortgage balance.
Delinquent Mortgage Counseling:
If you are having difficulty making your payments, we can help you review your options and quite possibly, avoid foreclosure. It is important that you act quickly if you find yourself unable to keep up with your mortgage payments. Our professional counselors can help you review your financial situation, develop a plan, and help you determine how to save your home or best avoid foreclosure. We understand that dealing with a delinquent mortgage alone can be very overwhelming. We know the steps that need to be taken in dealing with your mortgage company and can guide you every step of the way. All housing counseling is absolutely FREE with no obligation.
Homebuyers: If owning your own home seems like an impossible dream, let us help you! Many programs are available to first-time homebuyers to make that dream a reality. We can advise you which programs, such as down-payment assistance or lease to purchase, may be available to you. We can guide you step-by-step through the home buying process. We can also help you examine your living expenses to help you plan successfully for home-ownership.
We offer FREE home buyer workshops that can help you know what to expect so you can be fully prepared.
