Traci Morrison says that finances have always been on the forefront of her world. Her mother kept her abreast of their finances beginning at a very young age; A move she later regretted as Traci became known as the financial Attila the Hun. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oklahoma Baptist University, where she soon returned to manage their Federal Perkins student loan program. This allowed Traci the opportunity for one-on-one contact with the students taking out these loans, and her love for financial education was born. Among other aspects of her job at OBU, she also managed all of the past due tuition and loan accounts, which gave her a real feel for first party collections work. After working for OBU for several years, Traci signed up with the Salvation Army and took care of their books for a while. Feeling the need to return to more of the educational side of the financial world, she joined up with Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Central Oklahoma, where she is currently a counselor. Here, she is fighting the battle of empowering people to break free from the bondage of debt.

Karen Dahl has worked at CCCS for the last 8 years. Prior to working at CCCS, she was a client on the Debt Management Plan (DMP). Karen fell on hard times when she had a full and a part-time job & I lost the full time job. Eventually, her house went into foreclosure and the mortgage company referred her to Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Central Oklahoma. CCCS was able to work out a forbearance plan so Karen did not lose her home. It took her 4 1/2 years to pay off the rest of her unsecured debts. During her time on the DMP, Karen learned about proper budgeting.
